Snorkel Excursions

We offer different Snorkel Excursions by Boat.

The most amazing trip is Stingray City.

 

Stingray City

 

This excursion only takes place in the afternoon and is 8 minutes away from Embudu. You can see many Stingrays, mostly we also have big nursesharks (2- 3,5 m) and many fish. The sharks and the stingrays are absolutely harmless. Just make sure you don't touch them, chase them or hold on to them and you will have an amazing und unique experience.

Turtle Bay

 

Turtle Bay is a small reef, 20 minutes away from Embudu. There you can usually find many turtles and fish. And with a little bit of luck you can even encounter a green turtle, wich is rare and very big. These turtles live all year around on that reef.

Velassaru Reef

 

Depending on the weather condition, we also offer trips to the outer reef of the Island Velassaru on the west side of the atoll. There we can see turtles, corals and sometimes reef sharks and Napoleon fish. On the outside reef, we will drift with the current so we can see a wide area.
Sometimes we are lucky to spot very special things, like a manta ray or eagle ray.

Turtle Point

 

Depending on the weather condition, we go to the outer reef of the Island Embudu Finolhoo on the east side of the atoll. There we can see big mushroom corals and between the blocks we can often find turtles, stingrays, Napoleon fish, lots of red snappers and sometimes reef sharks. Especially in the times from January to May we have very clear water and many fish. Sometimes we have stronger currents then at other places.

Potato Reef

 

It's a reef inside the atoll and very popular among all the dive clubs in the neighborhood. They call it Kuda Giri.
Sometimes there will be also current, but mostly there is only little or even no current. This place has beautiful corals on the top reef and nice dropoffs, where we will find lots of fish, like fuseliers, snappers, mackerels and tunas. It's also possible to spot turtles.

Rainbow Reef

 

Depending on the weather and current condition, we also offer trips to Canyon / Rainbow Reef, which is close to Turtle Point. Snorkelers drift with the current along the reef of the north side of the atoll. There is a big gap in the reef, we call it Canyon. This rock is a magnet to many different kinds of fish, as for example red snappers, bannerfish, sweetlips and Napoleon fish. Often also whitetipped reef sharks and turtles are seen in this area. It is an amazing drift snorkel trip, Sometimes there will be a little more current.

Wir bieten mehrere Schnorchel Ausflüge in der Umgebung an. Der beliebteste ist Stingray City. Stingray City findet nur am Nachmittag statt. Dort haben wir bis zu 15 Stachelrochen und einige grosse Ammenhaie (bis zu 3,5m länge) Diese sind absolut ungefährlich.

 

 

Stingray City

 

Stingray City ist 8 minuten von Embudu entfernt. Er finden nur am Nachmittag statt.

We können dort viele Stachelrochen sehen. Sehr oft haben wir auch grosse Ammenhaie, bis zu 3,5m länge, die kommen um zu sehen was es leckeres gibt.

Keine Angst, diese Haiart und die Stachelrochen, sind absolut ungefährlich für Menschen. Aber trotzdem gilt:

Bitte nicht jagen und nicht anfassen!
Dann werdet ihr ein tolles Erlebnis haben.

Ausserdem sind viele Doktorfische, Wimpelfische, Schnapper und auch Schwarzspitzen Riffhaie dort heimisch.

Ein Atemberaubender Schnorchel Ausflug, den man niemals vergisst.

Also nicht verpassen.

Turtle Bay

 

Turtle Bay ist ein kleines Riff und ca. 20 minuten von Embudu entfernt.

Es ist ein grösserer Felsen der an manche stellen bis auf 2m nach oben kommt.

Wegen dem grossen nahrungs angebot, sind dort oft mehrer Schildkröten anzutreffen.

Mit etwas Glück auch manchmal eine Suppenschildkröte, die sehr gross werden.

Es gibt natürlich auch ein paar andere Fische wie an jedem Riff.

Die Schildkröten sind das ganze Jahr dort anzutreffen.

Also nicht verpassen.

Velassaru Reef

 

Je nach Wetterlage fahren wir dort an Aussenriff von Velassaru.

Velassaru liegt auf der Westseite des Atolls.

Wir haben dort stellenweise schöne Korallen auf dem Topriff, welches eine tiefe von ca. 3m hat, also perfekt zum schnorcheln.

In den Sommermonaten ist dort etwas welliger.

Wir lassen uns dort am Riff entlangtreiben und das Boot folgt uns in der nähe.

Meistens sehrn wir schildkröten, viele verschiedene Fische, Korallen und auch kleine Haie, Napoleon und auch Rochen.

Mit etwas Glück kann man dort Büffelkopf-Papageienfische sehen. Diese Napoleon ähnliche Papageienfische sind oft in kleinen Gruppen unterwegs. Sie werden wegen ihrer grösse gerne mit Napoleons verwechselt.

Turtle Point

 

Turtle Point ist am Aussenriff von Embudu Finolhoo auf der Nord Ost Seite des Atolls.

In den Wintermonaten haben wir dort sehr gute Sichtweiten. Auf dem Topriff gibt es sehr grosse Pilzkorallen-Blöcke, die fast bis zur Oberfläche hinauf ragen. Zwischen diesen tummeln sich jede menge fische, da sie viel Schutz vor starken Strömungen geben.

Ausser Schildkröten sehen wir dort ganz viele grosse rote Schnapper, Fuesselier Schwärme, Haie, Rochen und vieles mehr...

Es hat dort immer etwas Strömung, was die Fische lieben, da viel Nahrung kommt.

Doch manchmal ist die Strömung zu stark und wir können dann den Platz nicht anbieten.

Potato Reef

 

Diese Riff ist sehr beliebt bei vielen Tauchschulen im süden des Atolls, auch viele Safarie Boote tauchen dort regelmässig.

Sie nennen den Platz Kuda Giri.

Wir fahren reglmässig mit den Tauchen dort hin, und Schnorchler können dort ebenfalls Schnorcheln gehen.

Das Top vom Riff liegt auf 2-3m.

Es gibt einzelne keine Korallenblöcke an denen wir meist Anemonen haben und sich muraenen putzen lasse. Dort sind auch 2 Schildkröten heimisch. Die Nordseite ist die schönste. Da sind die meisten Fische. Viele Fuesselier Schwärme suchen schutz in der nähr de Riffs.

Sie werden gerne von Makrelen gejagt und oft kommen grosse Tunfische dazu.

Das riff ist sehr klein und fällt meist steil ab und hat schöne Korallen und viele Bunte Fische.
